This Mt. Rainier day hike was particularly awesome on a crisp fall day in October of 2008. I would rate it a nine out of ten for scenery on a sunny day and about a three out of five for difficulty. We reached the trail head from the Nisqually entrance of the park and then it happens to be on the south side of road at the Reflections Lakes parking area. The lake must get it’s name from fact that it makes a perfect mirror image of Rainier as you can see in this photo below:

This hike is a beautiful choice if you love open views with mountains, jagged peaks, and tall evergreens with the destination being a valley with lakes.
The date of this hike was October 10th, 2009. It was a Saturday and normally that would mean: LOTS of people, but this was not the case, thankfully. It was very cold that day and that may have kept many folks at home (or at least, not up in the mountains).
